Xbox Modding FTW

I love modding so much. And now my original xbox is tricked out hardcore.

So, I put XBMC on it, which is basically a media player on your xbox but amazing. It can play just about any media file extension ever, and can read it right off a data DVD if you want it to. So guess what? I can watch all the anime on my computer on tv now.

But wait, why go to the trouble of burning it to a DVD first? I changed the firmware on a wireless router to make it a client bridge (basically it's now a wireless receiver for the network in my house) and hooked my xbox to it via lan. Hurray for spending 0$ to make what costs $90 from microsoft. Anyway, now I can just stream video and audio from any computer in the house flawlessly. I mean 5mbps or more.

Oh yeah, and I can access the internet too, so I can watch youtube off my xbox on a tv. Or just about any podcast and RSS feed out there.

But wait, there's more. I found a couple programs that you run on a computer connected to the same network as your xbox, and it makes your xbox think it's a system link when really your laptop is connected to the internet, so now I can play xbox games online for free.

Oh god I love mods.

As usual, my work consumes me, and not my self motivated art, but my job.

I started something for the 2 words you gave me at work, still working on it. =P It's a harder combination then you would imagine.

Hopefully we will see something soon, but I have like 30 clients at work at the moment and they are trying to teach me to screen print, as well as I have a freelance customer I need to make a graphic for so we will see where I can fit fun and relaxing in.
